As Cabarrus County continues to see an explosion of growth, new facilities and amenities are needed to keep up. To that end, officials and residents gathered Tuesday evening to celebrate the groundbreaking on the 40,000-square-foot Library and Active Living Center at Afton Ridge.
The new facility, located behind Homesense at the intersection of George Bay Ct and Glen Afton Blvd, will provide convenient access to Cabarrus County Library System services along with space for Active Living and Parks programs like yoga, tai chi dance classes, games and more.
The facility is expected to open in January 2025. It will represent the county’s sixth library branch.
