After 24 years on the College of Marin board of trustees, Eva Long has resigned from her seat.
The trustees unanimously approved a resolution Tuesday to honor Long, whose term expires in November 2024.
“Trustee Long brought an impressive background in education expertise to the board of trustees,” Diana Conti, the board president, said after the vote. “But more than that, she always championed and mentored those who might otherwise not have the same opportunities to achieve their dreams.”
Long “steadfastly lived those values, and COM students benefited as a result,” Conti said. “Eva is a friend as well as a colleague to all of us on the board and we wish her well.”
David Wain Coon, the college’s president, declined to state a reason for Long’s departure other than to say “we have been informed that she is unable to complete her term.”
