AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Children’s Museum on Tuesday celebrated the completion of its 3,000 square-foot expansion in downtown Akron.
The expansion was funded by a $650,000 capital campaign and brings the museum footprint to 10,000 square feet. The additional space includes a new exhibit workshop, a recording studio, exhibit space, a sensory room, two meeting/party rooms, an office and a nursing/changing room. All of the exhibits align with the museum’s core pillars of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), health and wellness, arts and culture and civic and community engagement. The addition will allow the museum to increase its capacity and provide interactive and informational learning for children, families and community members.
