The classrooms of the future won’t have desks, notebooks, or even a single, large white board.
They’ll look a lot more like St. Elizabeth High School’s clean and colorful space called “The Mill.” Inside, there’s a sense of energy, creativity, and collaboration that’s lacking in more traditional classrooms.
“We wanted it to be a space where students felt comfortable working together in many different fashions and was going to prepare them for that next step in their lives,” said science department chair Kammas Murphy.
She played an instrumental role in designing the space to mirror cooperative working spaces, which promote creativity and collaboration.
