More programs to reach underserved communities outside of the downtown core; mental health, career advancement and youth empowerment to advance
Redwood City will expand its services and engagement for children, youth and families by June 2024 with new parks, mental health services, and more programs focused on youth and teens in underserved neighborhoods, according to Chris Beth, parks, recreation and community services director, and Derek Wolfgram, library director, both of whom spoke to the City Council during a study session on Monday, Oct. 2.
The initiatives will build on a plethora of services and programs the city currently offers.
Redwood City has committed nearly $7 million, or roughly 4% of the general fund, to finance activities supporting children and youth.
