
While the Pataskala Public Library undergoes a multi-million dollar expansion to meet the needs of the rapidly growing area, it will now not use a Watkins Memorial school building as a temporary location.
The library was set to share space with Kirkersville Elementary School at the former Watkins Memorial Middle School, but the library will now lease space from the West Licking County Family YMCA instead, Pataskala Library Director and Fiscal Officer Jeff Rothweiler said.
Rothweiler said the decision was made because a 7,000-square-foot space became available space after a travel baseball team that had leased it moved to a different location.
He said the decision was not based on a group of parents who opposed the move over safety concerns.
