Abuja, 06 February 2025 – The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), launched a 120KVA solar-powered mini-grid to enhance energy access for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria. This initiative aims to provide uninterrupted, sustainable, and affordable power, addressing one of the most critical challenges faced by entrepreneurs and small businesses in the country.
Following the launch of the mini-grid, UNDP and SMEDAN had a groundbreaking ceremony for a state-of-the-art makerspace, designed to serve as a hub for innovation, skills development, and entrepreneurship.
