The Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos is building a new clubhouse on the ground floor of a mixed-use building in the heart of an affordable housing community in the Richmar neighborhood of San Marcos.
Construction on the nearly 6,000-square-foot building at 413 Autumn Drive is expected to start later this summer.
The clubhouse is being built in a commercial space that is currently an empty concrete shell, which has been vacant for several years in an area that had been plagued by crime. But the community has been working to revitalize the area.
