NEWBURYPORT — The Institution for Savings, through its charitable foundation, awarded and pledged $648,982 in the third quarter, according to President and CEO Michael J. Jones. Several Cape Ann organizations were among the recipients.
The largest grants included two $100,000 payments to Essex County Greenbelt, based in Essex, and to Citizens Inn in Peabody as part of multiyear pledges for a conservation land purchase and the Haven from Hunger program, respectively.
The bank also granted $28,000 to YMCA of the North Shore, parent of the Cape Ann Y, for event and youth basketball sponsorships; $20,000 to The Pettengill House in Salinsbury for programs; $16,800 to Pathways for Children in Gloucester for its family-centered programming and annual gala;…
