It is not unusual for relatives of Kentuckians to die in action without family members knowing the full story of their military action.
Joyce Adkins, an occupational health psychologist and U.S. Air Force veteran,does not want that to continue.
“The Valor Institute is just getting going, but people can go to the website, valorinstitute.org, to get a preview,” she said.
In honor of Adkins’ uncle, J.C. Brooks, and her mother, Frances Brooks Adkins, the Valor Institute is establishing a Legacy Center dedicated to assisting those military families and the communities that support them.
The Valor Legacy Center will provide three foundational programs.
