LWV asks, ‘Can our democracy be fixed?’
The League of Women Voters of the La Grange Area hosts the presentation “Can Our Democracy Be Fixed” via Zoom on Tuesday, Feb. 2 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The presentation includes information gathered from years of study by a bipartisan commission of leading thinkers, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS). The report, “Our Common Purpose: Reinventing American Democracy for the 21st Century,” makes concrete recommendations for how to rebuild a culture of commitment to American constitutional democracy.
At this introductory meeting, the League will present a short video, summarize the report and discuss how to proceed with studying the recommendations in greater depth.
