Wilson Arts has announced that a $100,000 matching grant challenge has been offered by the Anonymous Trust. It’s money that would be used to help complete the construction of the organization’s 7,000-square-foot MakerSpace project.
To be awarded this grant, Wilson Arts must raise $100,000 before July 31.
“This is huge for our community, for a trust to believe in our organization and offer the opportunity to match the $100,000,” Wilson Arts Executive Director Cathy Hardison said at a recent art exhibition opening. “If we raise $100,000, they’ll match it. It’s all or nothing. If we raise $99,000, we don’t get that $100,000 match. We have to raise $100,000. And I believe we can do it. Every little bit helps.”
The MakerSpace project, already under construction, will house studios for pottery, metal smithing and jewelry-making, woodworking, mixed media art and a rehearsal…
