The makerspace at the High River Library offers a hands-on environment for creatives to explore and experiment. 

Michelle Parker, program coordinator at the library, said the makerspace was introduced six years ago with the purchase of its first 3D printer. Last year, the library made a concerted effort to expand the space, including the recent purchase of a new Bambu Lab 3D printer. 

Parker said the two printers the library has used for the past six years have been reliable and easy to maintain, but they only print in one colour. 

“We can now add up to four colours in a print,” she said. “We could be printing objects with multicoloured filaments within the object, and that’s really cool if you’re a 3D-printing enthusiast.”
