Easterseals Northeast Indiana staffer Danielle Jones had a challenge for four kids visiting the new makerspace at the organization’s Fort Wayne facility.
The children, ages 7 to 13, created stick figures using 3D printing pens. They then had to keep the stick people afloat in a handmade wind tunnel with parachutes made of other materials, such as coffee filters, Jones said during a Dec. 30 open house showcasing the hands-on environment.
The makerspace allows people of all ages and abilities to explore various interests by working in areas focused on creative expression, hands-on building, design and discovery, interactive play and problem-solving, and entrepreneurship and life skills, a news release said.
