STEM education is in full bloom at Vista Fundamental Elementary School.
Last week the elementary campus previewed its new Vista21 Makerspace and STEM lab during a schoolwide open house March 12. The lab will be open to students and teachers starting today.
A kind of modern-day workshop, the makerspace is a place where students can explore science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in a hands-on way.
The room includes low-tech items like wooden building blocks and magnetic construction kits, as well as high-tech microcontroller boards and microcomputers, among other types of equipment.
