The St. George School district is receiving $1 million from the federal Community Project Funding for its new Career and Technical Education center in Tenants Harbor.
In 2021, the U.S. House Appropriations Committee reestablished Community Project Funding after the House Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress found that congressionally directed spending boosted bipartisanship, facilitated member-to-member cooperation, and gave members an equal stake in the success of appropriations bills.
“This funding will be transformational for our school and community,” said St. George Superintendent Mike Felton, in a March 6 news release. “It will allow us to complete construction of the CTE/Makerspace Building and realize our vision to provide all students, PreK-12, with access to career and technical education.”
