CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A West Humboldt Park high school hosted its first annual STEAMfest Saturday.
STEAM stands for Science Technology Engineering Math and the Arts. At North-Grand High School, dozens of students line the halls, some showing off drone piloting skills.
There is also a laser- cutting station, virtual reality stations, and 3-D printing demonstrations. At the end of the hall, a door leads into the schools pool area, where the underwater robotics team was at play.
Principal Emily Feltes said the maker space contains a recording studio and a Mac lab.
