After a tumultuous year that climaxed with the controversial merger of two programs, Lagunitas School has rebooted with a new name and a stronger partnership with San Geronimo Valley Community Center.
The newly named Lagunitas Community School is “a child- and family-focused, community-supported public school,” said Laura Shain, school principal and Lagunitas School District superintendent.
The school, which had struggled with enrollment declines during the pandemic, has rebounded for the new school year with a total 162 students in transitional kindergarten through eighth grade on two campuses.
