CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Four times a year, children 18 years and younger will be able to get into the Chattanooga Zoo for free with their library card.
The Chattanooga Public Library provides outreach activities for four hours during the scheduled events.
On Sunday morning, the first day of “Adventure Days at the Zoo” was held from 9 a.m. to noon.
Visitors to the first event had the opportunity to make pressed floral bookmarks, create their own buttons, and sign up for library cards … all while enjoying the wild and wonder of the Zoo.
“It just makes a lovely part of Chattanooga a little bit more accessible, and it also just expands our partnerships, and we get to get out into the community. The library gets to get out of those buildings and see all of our friends,” library manager (of the Fourth Floor Maker space) Crissy Varnell said.
