STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Maker Park Radio, a Staten Island community radio station, celebrated its sixth anniversary with a music and art festival in Stapleton Saturday night.
Dozens of attendees filled a small lot directly across from the station’s Front Street studio, which is housed inside MakerSpace NYC, to enjoy an array of food and art vendors along with a lineup of local bands including: Vega Maestro, GIFT, Geese, Thus Love and renowned indie rocker Kevin Devine.
MakerParkRadio.nyc is a free streaming community radio station which was founded by Kristin Wallace who said she created the station out of a feeling of isolation and knowing that radio brings people of diverse backgrounds together.
