MATTAPOISETT — Three Old Rochester Regional School District educators have received grants from the Tri-Town Education Foundation.
Brian Almeida, a teacher at Old Rochester Junior High School, was awarded a collaborative intra-school grant titled “Physical Computing Displays at Old Rochester Regional Junior High School STEAM Night.” Through thus grant, students will learn about different programs, file formats and techniques related to hardware and software technology.
They will also have the opportunity to operate a laser cutter/engraver, a CNC manufacturing machine, and will learn to program a micro computer. Projects will be displayed at a STEAM event.
Richard Laprise, who also teaches at Old Rochester Junior High School, was awarded a collaborative inter-school, cross curriculum grant called “New Music to Our Ears: An Original Composition Project.”
