Fort Lauderdale, known as the Venice of America because of its large network of canals, is a year round place to enjoy beaches and sun, explore diverse and trendy neighborhoods, attend concerts, museums and art exhibits, and eat or drink at an array of great restaurants, cafes and pubs.
A year ago last winter, we spent a month in New Orleans to get away from the cold in Washington D.C. While we loved our stay there, the weather wasn’t quite as warm as I had hoped. This year we decided to spend the peak of winter in an AirBnB in Fort Lauderdale, where the temperature would be more to our liking with highs averaging 80 degrees.
