ROCKLAND — A panel of educators and business owners will join forces on the evening of Jan. 17 at the Mid-Coast School of Technology (MCST) to discuss how hands-on/minds-on technical learning can transform schools and strengthen local economies.
Business owners will discuss the challenges they’re facing finding skilled workers as well as possible solutions. Educators will talk about the power of expanding access to Career and Technical Education (CTE) to all students, PreK-12th grade, as a way to strengthen our schools, workforce, and local economies. The panel will consider how the CTE/Makerspace Building Project (a partnership between St. George MSU and MCST) can provide a model for increasing access to CTE and promoting rural economic development.
