Visiting Redmond Washington? Quickly Tour This Quirky Treehouse Etched On A Maple Tree

In Redmond, Washington is the four-story Redmond Treehouse built in 1980 by Steve Rondel on an old, broad, leafed maple tree and is today a local attraction. It is on 5 acres of land with a homestead where Steve and his wife Diana started a family. Rondel built the treehouse so that his young family could learn, play and explore nature while growing up in the great Pacific Northwest. He was inspired to build the Redmond Treehouse after watching the 1960 Swiss Family Robinson film, where a treehouse was built on an island to protect a family from wildlife.
