At 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, the Fort Morgan City Council met at City Hall to head out on a tour of some local departments and facilities. They visited Riverside Cemetery, the museum storage facility and the Fort Morgan Museum and Library.
Riverside Cemetery
Upon arriving at the Fort Morgan cemetery, the council members were greeted by Superintendent Matt Underwood and Assistant Superintendent Tyler Zink.
Underwood has been leading the cemetery for five years now and is also the superintendent for the golf course.
The cemetery covers approximately 40 acres, which Underwood shared is a significant plot of land to care for and maintain. They have approximately 15,800 plots, and the team mows the entire property twice a week.
“It’s a great place to work, but a hard place to work,” said Underwood.
