STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.– Deborah Woodbridge, primary caretaker of the Conference House, is doing her part to remind the public of the Lenapes’ contributions to Staten Island.
Woodbridge collaborated with MakerSpace to create “ENDURANCE,” a 10-foot-tall arrowhead sculpture that will debut with a socially distant viewing Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at MakerPark in Stapleton.
“This arrowhead represents the resiliency, spirit and strength of these people,” Woodbridge told the Advance/SILive.com. “It’s important that people continue to know about the Lenape culture specifically and, in general, the native people that have inhabited this land.”
