Within the doors of Etown Comics at the Towne Mall more than just comic books are for sale.
Max Eriksen, operator of the store and the Twelve Gym next door along with his wife, Morgan, wants to cultivate a makerspace at the location with 3D printers.
The front of the store contains two FDM 3D printers which are filament based. These printers can create plastic structures, which Eriksen has lined around his printers and store. These include stands, figurines and tabletop items.
They also have a resin 3D printer and a laser engraver for wood, which he uses to create laser-engraved wooden ornaments.
Eriksen said he took an early interest in 3D printers when they were becoming more and more known around 10 years ago.
