Have you ever wanted to use a 3D printer? The Ankeny Public Library has a Creator FlashForge 3D printer that is available for public use.

The 3D printer takes computerized 3D models in .obj or .stl format and prints them using PLA or ABS plastic. Users can design their own 3D models in Tinkercad or download pre-made designs from the internet. Users only pay for the time it takes to print item ($1.00 per hour of printing).

To use the 3D printer and our makerspace, individuals must have a valid Ankeny Public Library card. Users may obtain a library card by visiting our front desk with a photo ID and proof of current address. If you would like more information about using our 3D printer, contact the library at 515-965-6460 to schedule an appointment.
